Rosewood Kauri Cliffs

In 1995, Julian Robertson travelled to New Zealand to acquire a working sheep farm near the Bay of Islands on the North Island. Over the next six years, the Robertson's developed and opened the Kauri Cliffs championship golf course designed by David Harman, and The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs, marking the family's first foray into the luxury hospitality industry.

Within a year of Kauri opening in 2001, the lodge would be named among the top resorts in the world by premier publications such as Andrew Harper, Conde Nast Traveler, Golf Digest, Tatler Magazine and Travel + Leisure.

Discover the spectacular, untouched coastline of Northland, with its panoramic views across the Pacific Ocean, nearby islands and stunning private beaches from the luxury coastal resort. High cliffs and rolling farmland are complemented by the award-winning manicured greens of the championship golf course, promising an unforgettable stay in one of the world's most breathtaking destinations.

The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs offers 180-degree ocean views, 3 private beaches, an 18-hole golf course and 2 tennis courts. Guests also enjoy an infinity pool with a spa pool, a fitness centre, a day spa and an onsite restaurant. Your stay at The Lodge includes breakfast, pre-dinner drinks with hors d’oeuvres and gourmet dinner. A complimentary in-room minibar is provided, with domestic beer - liquor/wines are available for an extra charge. Kauri Cliffs is a 3.5 hour drive north of Auckland, or just 45 minutes by plane or helicopter.
